Gymnastics and period

What do girls do when they have their period and they have to compete in gymnastics? My daughter just recently started hers. She competes in gymnastics, bt doesn't want to wear tampons. Ughhhhh! Any ideas? Her flow gets to heavy for panty liners :-/

I've heard of some cup thing but if it were me id tell her tampon or no gymnastics

How old is she? My niece is 11, and wears what they called junior tampons. They are made for girls that are in this age range. My neice is a swimmer so she used to have this problem.
