My DH just went to jail and I feel like it's my fault....
He's a recovering alcoholic and he fell off the wagon last night, I took him to a woman he calls "mom"'s house this morning because she can usually get through to him when he's like this, on the way home he started ripping my stereo and console out in the car while I was driving, and some of the wires. I happened to be passing a cop when this was going on and we got pulled over... He got arrested for criminal damage to property and taken to jail... I think I've just lost my family (SS was NOT with us last night/this morning he's with FIL)

The car is registered in my mom's name for insurance reasons, and the cops said we didn't have a say in whether or not charges were pressed.... and DH has been sober for almost 3 years, no idea what set this off
Im sorry, but it sounds like he needs some help with his drinking problem.

There's more to this story than what you're saying. How they figure he was damaging your property? He probably has hand problems which is what he most likely got locked up for.
Why do you want to be with a drunk anyway? Love isn't shit when a man disrespects, abuses you. I've dealt with a loser like that too, I never say never but if anything were to happen with DH and I now I'd NEVER look back at captain loser!
