Do you or anyone you know not have insurance and needed hospital care? Did they receive proper treatment? Was there lack of treatment due to no insurance?

I went through the hospital without insurance. I received all of the testing I needed. I had to go through a specialist for the treatments.

but I would guess it depends what treatments were needed.

I just needed ultrasounds and an endoscopy.

I had to have my appendix removed. I didn't have insurance but they took really good care of me. I had a great group of doctors that knew I was scared so they talked to me to help calm me down and I had very little scarring from the surgery.

I used to go in a lot as a kid for strep throat...and once for fractured ribs when I was 15, at the time I didn't know they were fractured. I'm 20 years old now and my mother is still paying off that bill and all they did was a bunch of ex-rays.

A few years ago I had what ended up being an ingrown pimple on my cheek. They admitted me to the hospital for iv antibiotics cause it swelled my face from lip to eyebrow, when I tried to smile only one side of my mouth would turn up. I had no insurance, was in the hospital for 2 days. Xmas eve and Xmas day sadly. My care was not hindered due to no insurance and they even had the people from Medicaid cone up and talk to me so I ended up with Medicaid and didn't even see a bill

My husband went with back pain so bad he couldn't walk.
He got crappy treatment. They wouldn't even give him anything for the pain, wouldn't give him any tests but a blood test that the nurse messed up. She had to stick him 3 times and let the blood squirt from his arm all over the bed, floor, wall.
They did nothing for him, have the diagnosis as in explained back pain that happens to adults at least once in their life :/

My MIL downed a bunch if pills to kill herself and they didn't do anything. Kept her for a few hours to make sure she was fine, gave her the number of a counselor
And sent her home. No suicide watch or anything. And no she did not have insurance.

When my mom was in a motorcycle accident she was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Her and my dad didn't have their insurance info on them due to the circumstances of the accident. All the hospital did was staple my moms head back together and then pushed her out into the waiting room to go home. They wouldn't mess with her anymore then that because she couldn't prove she had insurance, which she has very good insurance. Turns out, the next day when she went to her family dr she had a broken leg and 3 fractured discs in her neck and back.

Im sorry your husband got crappy treatment. Hope he is better now.
