How long were you together before you got engaged to your xdh/df/dh?

I was just reading a post on fb and I'm curious again. The lady was engaged for 15 years and still not sure she is ready to marry him.

We never got engaged. Well maybe the time until we got our marriage certificate and got married. been married for almost three years

We met when I was 14 he asked me to marry him about 6 months later he put his spike ring on my hand and continued to propose almost yearly lol we never broke up he just wanted to make sure I hadn't changed my mind. He gave me a gold ring in my junior year with a small diamond and I wore it till he asked me again 4 months before married when he proposed with my upgraded ring we have been together 11 years this year.

8 months. Separated a little after our second  year of marriage due to abuse. I have now been with my s/o for almost 2 years and we are in no rush.
