With MTV's 16 & pregnant, and Teen Mom show glorifying teen pregnancy. My teen wanted a baby, and got pregnant. D@MN YOU MTV!

See how stupid the logic, or there lack of is in blaming others for teen pregnancy? Honestly just be a parent, teach your kids, and hope you raised them to do right by you, and themselves.

I think people are missing her point. Peer pressure is very common amongst kids. Boys tell girls that they cant feel anything when wearing condoms, they love them so they should do this for them, etc.

Girls lie and say they are on BC when they stop taking the pill last week so they can get pregnant, etc.

And if you have a friend who has a baby and they make it sound like its the easiest thing in the world and they know their baby will love them always even when mom and dad might not and "glorify" it so to speak, who know what your child might go out there and do because of the pressure or the desire?

Parenting does play a huge roll in preventing teen pregnancy. Most (not saying all) teens get pregnant for lack of attention, love and dedication from their parents. Also, lack of guidance. When you add all those factors in, you have a child with no desire to have a baby just because its the "in" thing to do or because they are missing that stuff.

MTV does NOT glorify teen pregnancy. They show the truth. It's hard. People struggle if they don't have a good support system for family. Many of them drop out of high school, miss fun events, and have relationship drama.

You cannot deny that television has an impact on growing child's minds and reasoning. While the child is responsible for making such a mistake so in part is the parent who was not involved enough to know what was going on in her child's life. glorigying teen parenthood can lead some vulnerable love starved teen girls in to thinking a baby will give them the love they so need. or give them the idea that teen motherhood has some kind of perk. it all ties in together

I dont see how ppl think it glorifies teen pregnancy, none of those girls are happy, and all express regret.

IDK. Some might see it as a free chunk of change. You never know.

Some teens can't be convinced having a baby is bad even if they do see other people struggling.

I agree.

Also, teen pregnancy has actually gone down, so I don't think that MTV is "glorifying" it at all.
