argument about mowing your lawn

I had this argument last night about mowing your lawn after 8 pm. I said it is somewhat rude, he said after 8 is perfectly acceptable. I know I am wrong on many things, but I just wanted your opinion!

that's what I thought, there are people trying to sleep in the evening, especially kids.

I think it's rude after 8. Then it's still daylight here until almost 10.

Only if he is violating some kind of legal noise ordnance.

Otherwise he is free to mow his lawn whenever he wants. He does not need to check your schedule.

If you live in an area where is very hot ( 90+) all the time I can understand waiting till evening. Unless you want 7am mowing. Then again his work schedule may only allow him do mow later.

8 p.m is a bit late, especially if you live in a neighborhood/cul-de-sac, and not just on a road with neighbors (kwim?)

My DH usually mows when he gets home at 5:45p.m - he's usually done around 7-7:30 depending on if he mows the backyard or not. His rule is dusk. By dusk, all those noises need to calm down a bit.

There are a few people that mow the lawn in my neighborhood at 8pm or later. It makes me mad when I'm trying to put my babies to bed at that time. I also think it's rude if you do it before 8am, but maybe I'm just crazy!

I find it rude, unless it's an electric mower. They aren't very loud.
