argument about mowing your lawn

I had this argument last night about mowing your lawn after 8 pm. I said it is somewhat rude, he said after 8 is perfectly acceptable. I know I am wrong on many things, but I just wanted your opinion!

A lot of towns have laws in place regarding appropriate landscaping times.

That's kinda late but if it summer time, I think it's fine, most people have there windows shut with a/c on , I hate early morning sat mowers... Ugh

I think it is inconsiderate. Just like I won't mow at 7 am because I know people are still sleeping (even though quiet times are 10pm-7am here). But people are within their rights and the law to do so.

LOL my husband wants a john deer...that would look hilarious with a really small yard

We have a reel mower. DH can mow whenever he wants. LOL. I get irritated if it's before 7 am or after 8 pm.

I love it here. :)

my cousin lives in South Carolina. She says the same thing. I have never been down there, but I hear it is goregous.

NC It usually stays quite toasty around here from late April until early October. Sometimes it warms up sooner and sometimes it takes until almost December to feel a chill.

Quoting sunfireprincess:

where are you from? Ohio it has been like that the last few days too.

Quoting bmw29:

It's only may and it was in the mid 80's by 9am here. Around here people mow no earlier than 7pm usually unless they desire a heat stroke.

Quoting Simple-Beauty:

I understand in July/August, when it's already scorching out, first thing in the morning.

IMO, it doesn't bother me if it's still light out.

LOL! We have a townhouse, so DH wanted something that will cut well but won't take up much space since our yards are tiny.

My kids all go to bed at 8... And I wouldn't be mad if a neighbor was mowing then. DH doesn't get home from work until 8 sometimes. I would be pissed if someone tried telling him he couldn't mow the lawn then. After dark is our cut off.

when I wrote this post I forgot about the heat and such, which is logical. I wouldn't want to mow it in 80+ degree weather either. at 7 am- I agree.
