Why is this considered offensive and oppressive

but not this

I am just curious because these are some of the thing people say, i even heard one woman say (on this site) it was unamerican of these women (wearing the hijab, specificaly) to be covered.  Both dress this way as a choice and are not forced to (if they are its a culture thing), both believe in the God of Abraham. There are more similarities than  differences when compared UNBIASLY.

Because the top follows a religion that has been known to condone deathly attacks on America??? That's my guess.

I don't take offense to either.

I don't find neither one offensive. Plenty of women are still living in the stone ages here, very close minded.

I've never found either oppressive. I think many who object to hijab don't understand that it's a choice.

They are "offensive" because the people that think that it is offensive to wear hijab are ignorant.

I do not get the whole issue with the way people traditionally dress. If it is their choice then who are we all to say that they are being oppressed? It is their choice, their right.
