Me and my dh have been seperated for months, the marriage is pretty much done and over.we have 1 dd together who is almost 2,he hardly ever sees her.the thing is he left me with everything but from what I'm hearing he pays his mom bills.so here I am taking care of dd and everything else,I don't get help with medical or daycare.neither of us can afford attorneys...anyone can tell me where to start?

Call your local Child support enforcement agency and they can send you the paperwork to get it all started.  some states its a separte office of welfare and others it is actually in the DA's office.

If you have to apply for any assistance, they will automaticaly go after him for support. Otherwise start the divorce process and they will also do that automatically.

Contact Friend of the Court or whoever handles that type of thing in your state and find out about filing for child support, daycare and medical coverage for your LO and putting a visitation schedule in place.

Did the two of you have a pre nup or any other type of legally binding agreement about CS? If not go to your local legal aid branch and ask them for help. You need to file for a temporary child support order to be put in place until the divorce happens and the courts establish CS.

Some court houses have free self service and stuff. Google your nearest courthouse.
