oh please....take your judgemental ass somewhere else. My husband and I are BOTH in school and he works full-time. I also sell crafts that I make. We are trying to get off of pa.

Quoting PTK11:

Thank God someone else works (and has to leave their kids!) to pay for the food that fills YOUR childs belly.

Quoting Anonymous:

I am on pa and a SAHM. That seems to get the blood boiling on CM.

Also, I did a "hit and run" when I was a teenager. I felt really bad, but I knew that I didn't have the money to pay for the damage I did to that was pretty bad. I still feel terrible about it.

Isn't that what WIC is?

Quoting Anonymous:

It ensured healthy food on the table and people weren't selling it.

Quoting LectioDivina:

What's the difference in that and food stamps except the method of delivery?

Quoting Anonymous:

His parents got the necessities from the government. Cheese, milk, beans, rice, canned meat, veggies and fruit. I think there were other things too but I don't know what they were. No food stamps. Each month they got enough food for their family.

Quoting LectioDivina:

What do you mean by commodities? He grew up on just The things he needed, or there was a form of trade/bartering going on?

Quoting Anonymous:

My husband grew up on commodities. His parents stood in line for the basics. He said they weren't hungry.

Quoting LectioDivina:

That's not really how it works...

I know everyone would like to think that we are all these selfless caring individuals that would just donate enough to feed the helpless but that's not the case...

Hundreds of thousands would starve without the Government programs. Charity is not nearly enough

Quoting marchantmom06:

Right, give the money from the FS program to the people at the food banks and then parents can go every week and get a dietician to show them how to prepare healthy meals, and then this chips an soda and cakes won't be a problem.

Quoting Anonymous:

I am totally willing to feed a kid. I have just seen too many that abuse food stamps. We drop off two bags of food a month at the Food Bank.

I got a $5,200 payout from my stock options when our company sold out to another company and I let my best friend hide it for me for a few months until I could leave my abusive husband.
