Using pregnancy as an excuse to not be a hostess for a bridal shower

Thoughts?

I'm trying to organize a bridal shower for a college friend. Asked someone if she wanted to be a hostess. She said no.. because it is about a month before her due date! A MONTH! Seriously? 

I mean I guess it is possible that she could go into early labor or whatever, but its also possible that I could get ina serious car accident, but I don't keep that as a reason for not being a hostess for a bridal shower.

Just had to vent!

Have you ever been pregnant?? The third trimester can be very tiring for most women...especially the last month! She probably doesn't want the extra responsibility right now.

Well I was a hostess several times while I was pregnant, and I would have never dreamed of declining because I was pregnant

am 37 wks pregnant am tired, cranky and hating life. last thing i need is more shit on my plate. so yeah am with your friend

So.. just cuz u ask doesn't mean she has to do it. Maybe she doesn't feel like hosting a shower at 9 mos pregnant I don't blame her.

I told her that her only responsiblity would be to come to the shower realy. .I'm afraid no one is going to come

I would decline in the last month of pregnancy. That's too much stress.

I wouldn't. I wouldn't be thrilled you asked knowing I'd be 8 months pregnant. I wouldn't feel like cleaning from top to bottom to have people over.
