My 1 month old is crabby as hell tonight and I'm about to lose it. Since about 1130PM he has done nothing but scream and fuss. He will not sleep for more than 10 minutes at a time. I can only guess its colic and I've done everything under the sun to try and calm him down. I've held him, cuddled him, bounced him, nursed him on and off for 2 hours.. He's fed and changed.. I've put him in his room twice and had myself a good cry both times, but I'm seriously losing my mind! I know its not his fault, buts nearly 5AM now and I'm fucking tired and cranky myself! I can't get this kid to be quiet or go to sleep.. Just an hour or 2 is all I'm asking little man! Please give mommy a break! Don't worry I'm not some lunatic that's going to hurt my baby. I just need a good scream and cry. Its going to be a long day. My 3 year old is definitely spending the day with grandma cause mommy is going to need to catch up on some sleep.. Ughhhhhh.

Breath on his face... I know it sounds weird but the warmth of my breath soothed my baby. Its worth a shot.

I thought my baby was just weird, but that's usually how I get him to sleep at night, lol. Its a no go tonight unfortunately.. Thank you for the suggestion :)

I sure don't miss those days! My oldest was like that for his whole first year. Hang in there momma and don't be afraid to let him cry a couple of minutes in his crib to lock yourself in the bathroom for a few minutes to catch your breath and gain perspective.*hugs*Good luck.

My DD was the same way. Her pediatrician told me to swaddle her as tight as I could, like even if it felt too tight for comfort. Since they were used to being constricted in the womb, it was comforting to them. It worked! Give it a try and GL!

Me too, me too. It was very hard at times. I know it sounds strange but I always just said to myself..."Ok, this is only temporary. There will be a day, when I wish dd was this small again and I'm going to miss it. Besides I've stayed up longer than this just watching tv. No big deal." It helped me. Good luck, mama!

Hugs mama, I know it's rough. I went through about 6 weeks of colic with my oldest. I alternated remedies, to get by the best I could.
Chamomile tea
Running the vacuum
Putting him on the washer, in his baby seat, during the spin cycle
Walk in his stroller

I thought the same and I always tried to comfort myself by saying "they have to sleep eventually"

1 mom liked this
Have you tried to swaddle him? My son loved being wrapped in a tight blanket, then put him in his swing and he would be asleep with in mins.
My son is now six and till this day he still likes to have his blanket wrapped tight around him. Try to swaddle a six year old..yeah that wasn't going to happen.
