In light of the recent food posts... I figured this would be kind of funny.

So... You know your broke or live paycheck to paycheck when your pantry contains _______.

Ramen noodles
"canned weenies" (Vienna sausages)
Dry milk

Just in case lol.

I was cleaning my pantry yesterday and giggled about some of the crazy things we have that would be eaten if we ever ran out of food.

I like it every now and then for lunch. Just the chicken kind, with a slice of cheese melted in and lots of pepper.

Am I the only one who buys Ramen because I like it???

nope. We always have a huge case of it in our pantry cuz both me and my son love the stuff. in fact its 1 of the few things I can eat no problem when I am pregnant and have really bad morning sickness. I eat that stuff for breakfast everyday when pregnant to help me feel better. I love love love ramen.

When you have to make life decisions over $8.81 at Walmart.

Seen a couple doing this the Saturday before Easter. They had their EBT card, but it didn't take off for a few candy items, and cigarettes. The woman literally spent about 7 minutes trying to gather $8.81 from the people that were with her. She didn't want to put back the cigarettes. I would say if I go to the store and I have to start making life decisions about $8.81 then I am probably broke.

If I am at the gas station, and I have to try and remember how much it is going to cost me to eat, or get gas. I am probably broke.

DH goes to bargain stores and buys canned crap that he swears he'll eat but doesn't.  I keep it all in a special cabinet.  A lot of canned sardines, fish fillets (herring), canned berries in sauce, veggies and fruits that are some gross off-brand, dolmas, IDK what else... it's all yucky.
