I disagree with it.

When I was pregnant with DD this past year, they made me do the test where they checked the baby for any abnormalities. The test showed that she was a HIGH risk ( I don't remember the numbers) of having down syndrome. (wasn't going to make me love her any less!!) They didn't explain ANYTHING to me untill I called them bawling my eyes out. Come to find out it was a FALSE POSITIVE. Needless to say she was born healthy and no deformities.

I completely disagree with these tests. They need to make sure it's 100% correct or don't do it at all.

but THAT is my opinion.

what do you think???

it's the mothers choice to take the test right?

I refused the testing.  I didn't want to worry unnecessarily.

They offer the tests, they aren't mandatory. I refused them with both of my pregnancies.

It's your choice to have the testing done. I personally like the tests...I have a higher chance of having a child with down syndrome...it helps me to prepare during my pregnancy what could possibly happen to baby.

We opted out of the tests because they're not 100% and it wouldn't change our decision to keep the pregnancy. We had soft markers for our first son.

Yes only because I think it would be good to be able to get yourself prepared. Do research, know what to expect, know what you're supposed to to ahead of time.

I just refused it. My doctor explainedIp those tests have a 80% false positive and ultrasounds would be more accurate.
