pregnant in middle school

We moved into our happy little home about 6 months ago. Behind us is a middle school and a cute little park. I felt like taking DS (2) for a bike ride. I should have know to go at a different time. school was just about to let out. As we pulled up to the park, I noticed several groups of middle school aged kids throughout the park. They we're smoking, some where snuggled up to guys. Then there was the pregnant group. 6 different girls pregnant ! Big bellies and with sodas or chips in there hands. How sad is that? DS and I rode a few laps around the park. Then the girls started to walk to the front of the park and wait on their rides. I couldn't help but notice most of the parents looked extremely young themselves. I just think it is so sad. I'm not bashing anyone who was a pregnant teen. I'm just shocked its even in middle school.

on another note we went grocery shopping the other day. There's this boy looked about age 7. He was sick, coughing and hacking. Gagging and gasping for air. His parents snatched him up by the arm, yanking him across the isle. The mom yelled at him to stop over and over again. She screamed knock it off. It took everything I had to not slap her. What kind of message is that sending? Poor boy!

Our school doesnt have middle school but that is what 5th-8th grade? Sad but at least theyre in school. The economy is killing parents. It is very hard to parent a 14 yo while both parents work 2 jobs..

Yeah, it happens in middle school. Not all that uncommon anymore. Which is really sad.
