I'm watching toddlers and tiaras and one little girls name is Alycesaundra pronounced "Ah-lis-andra" and when the speaker mispronounced her name the mom flipped
Can you imagine when that little girl goes to school, she is going to have to spell her name or pronounce her name over and over again.
For realz. It annoys me when people spell their kids name "cool" or "different" and it just looks like they guessed at the spelling. Names usually have meanings, based on origin, if you dont spell it that way, it doesnt mean anything. It's just a bunch of letters thrown together. If you decide to do this crazy spelling, you better stay calm at mispronounciations.
am i the only one who looked at that name and knew how to pronounce it?
Quoting mommy_me:am i the only one who looked at that name and knew how to pronounce it?
People are going to mispronounce names no matter the spelling. My name is Janna and idiots all the time get it wrong. My youngest dd is named Lexi and I have had people call her Lexus. -.-
