but, I feel the need to denounce my Christianity. I love the lord, but I believe his message is that of love, compassion, kindness, and understanding. A nature of helping and accepting. You teach his word in hopes of captivating people. Changing people for the good.
But the majority of "Christians" I know, have always come off as self-righteous, hypocritical, close-minded, holier than thou, bigots.
While I always thought you should "love thy neighbor" the "Christians" I know only exhibit this behaviour to A.) Make themselves look good or B.) Do it because the needy is another "Christian". If they were Christian and homosexual, the assistance they would normally offer would be void. Or if they were in need of assistance but did not believe in God, they would try to shove their religion down your throat as their means to help you...
Maybe I am a hippy in a sense, I believe God's love should extend to all, regardless of sex, race, creed, or sexual orientation. Because God hates sin, but loves all sinners.
I just can't see myself classifying my self with these other people.
Am I going to Hell for this?

I agree with you 100% Im ashamed of half the people who call themselves Christians...and no you are not going to hell.

Do you feel that worshiping the lord in your own way and interpreting his word is acceptable? It's what I feel the need to do but I am fearful. I just don't fit in as a Christian
