how do you handle biting?

my 2 1/2 year old was playing "monster" yesterday while we were all hanging out in my room. before I knew it, he bit me on the arm HARD !!! ouch!! I told him NO BITING and then put him in TO - he laughed the whole time saying "i'm monster, I bite" ahhhhhhh

My little girl is about that age. She just did that a week ago. I told her it hurt and made a boo boo. She wasn't getting it and kept doing it. So I told her if she was going to bite that she could bite herself. She bit herself and said it hurt and made a boo boo. She hasn't tried to bite anyone since then.

I did when my oldest went through a horrible biting stage. He bit me hard as hell one time so I bit him back and never had a biting probem with him again. 

My middle child was even worse with his biting and it didn't phase him. Nothing did, but he finally outgrew it. 

My daughter...we never had a biting problem with her.

Bite back :P they won't like it and won't do it to others any more. Don't bite hard tho :P just like grab her finger and nip, shell be more surprised than hurt

Yes, in my experience just acting like you're going to works wonders. I did however pull DD's hair once to show her it hurts. She never did it again.

I used to grab DSs face gently and tell him if he bit again I'd pull all of his teeth out lol
