Did you first get AF?

I was 11, and luckily at home. We were putting up the Christmas tree, lol!

It was horrible...I have a 6 year old sis and my mom has educated her since we figure she will get it very soon as well. Lol

9. I was beyond scared since I didn't even know what a period was...lol

My mom was 9, she didn't know what was going on either. She told me she thought she was dying, lol!

I was 8. I was in school and I started screaming hysterically and a whole bunch of people rushed into the room, I thought I was dying lol. My mother was very distant at this time of my life and she hadn't told me anything about puberty. The whole situation was so embarrassing and I really wish AF would have waited until we learned about it in school lol.

My mom did the same with me, but I got lucky and didn't start for a while. But I imagine I'll talk to dd about it earlier, just in case. I'd hate for her to have to go through something like that!
