Continue to talk to my kid. Obviously she doesn't understand conversation is stimulating for a kid.

I wouldn't do anything. What do you think you should have done?

If you don't talk to her, how does that woman think she's going to learn?

My DD is four months old. Since she was born i have full blown conversations with her... at home in public. Ill tell her about my day.. ill tell her why i like a certain song when we are in the car. I tell her what foods mommy hates when we walk through the grocery stores. I do get some odd looks... but o welll thats how they learn.

i'm pretty sure it's standard practice to talk to our babies even before they know what the heck we're saying

I would say, "Yes she can! She just hasn't formulated a good enough response to my discussion on global warming yet. Let the kid THINK, would you!"
