Embarrassed ETA

We're having a BBQ with family and my BIL's girlfriend was here helping with prepping dinner. We were peeling potatoes for both mashed and salad and I noticed she was starting to peel potatoes, and then she'd put some to the little grocery bag we were using to put the peels in and I noticed that she was throwing what looked like whole potatoes into the bag. So I asked why she was doing that. She said that they were rotted and moldy so they needed to be thrown away. Well, I pulled them out of the bag. Examined them and just cut away the rotted parts and continued to peel the potatoes.

She pretty much called me disgusting and said that she wasn't going to eat the moldy food. I was like, "Well...okay."

When everything was cooked and set outside for the BBQ, this girl then proceeded to tell everyone that I was serving them moldy food. :| It was just like, "Wtf?" I explained what I did and everyone pretty much shrugged their shoulders and ate the food. It was still good and it's not like the entire potato was moldy. It just had a part of it that was rotted so I cut it out. It was still a perfectly good potato. I just bought the bags yesteday.

I dunno. I just needed to get that off of my chest.

Sorry, I meant the black bruise parts. Lol.

She's a dumb nut. Throwing away a whole potatoe because of one 'bad' part.

I didn't know anyone actually threw the whole potato out for there being a bad spot, I just cut the spot out. o.O

I guess I am a dumb nut as well. I would have thrown them away as well.

If there was any kind of mold on my food, I would be throwing it out as well.

I guess, if there's only a little part that has a black spot I will cut it, you're boiling them either way, 'bacteria' will go away.

She sounds really rude. I would've done what you were going to do. That's what I always do.

Well are we talking about black/bad spots or MOLD? You know, mold, as in the fuzzy nasty shit that grows on spoiled food? If there was true mold, I would have thrown it out. A bad spot here and there I cut away.

I do the same thing.  No reason to throw away the whole thing for one spot.
