Hurt Down to My Soul Today

My family apparently forgot all about Mother's Day this year.  I haven't felt this low for a long time, and this may be the final straw.

Bc you should celebrate your mother every day she's alive and with you. Not focus on one made up holiday to show her.

Quoting mommy_me:

I dont agree with that at all.

How is a day celebrating women who gave life, the things they do, how special they are and all they endure for their families trivial?

Quoting mrssummerlin:

You shouldn't feel bad about this. Mother's Day is a trivial day and shouldn't be something anyone is upset about. Just another day on the calendar like any other.

I'm sorry.   I can't even imagine how you feel.  Just tired...so tired of doing right by my husband and never getting anything back.  The kids are small.  He should have at the very least bought them a card to give to me -- AND YOU SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A CARD, TOO.

Quoting Anonymous:

My ex wouldn't let my kids buy me a mothers day card. They had to give it to their new step mother (she's actually their second step mother).
The evening after he got custody he told me he would spend his life turning them against me. He's almost there
Nothing in my life has ever been as painful as being snubbed today was. ( I also did not get to see them today, he wanted them with their "mami" )

Out on both counts there.  My mother is dead and my husband could care less about Mother's Day or anything that doesn't revolve around him.

My oldest won't even tell me he loves me anymore. He just...takes up space when I do get to see him. I'm so afraid of losing him to his dad forever that I have resorted to buying his love. It's all I have left

What kind of things is your ex telling those kids?  Problems you have between one another should never poison children against any parent.  My husband is a complete jackass to me, but I always support him  around the children.  Mind you, he IS an A-Hole, but I'm not going to tell them that.  Lord knows they will figure that out all on their own.  And when they do I will be here for them.

Your ex needs to stop or you need to discuss this with a lawyer...someone that has the power to intervene and get you back on the right track with your kids.
