i hate that name

Ezra! That is the name my sister has picked out for her son. Now am trying to talk her out of it. Am sorry but that is not a name you give to a kid that is going to be a "country " boy. We all have "basic" southern/simple names. Lily Jo is her DD name, her and hubs have "simple" names too. I just feel if she names him Ezra he is going to get picked on around here and people are going to have a hard time saying it. She use to hate in school when people said her name wrong.

Casey (after a Cowboys player) Dallas (after the Dallas Cowboys)

The Cowboys suck!!!!

Quoting tiffstud:

What is it?

Quoting bmw29:

Not necessarily. I still can't stand my nephews name and he's 9. :(

Quoting hollydaze1974:

It's a beautiful, biblical name. And it's her son, so although you don't care for it, it will grow on you because he's your nephew.

Ezra is an old fashioned name. Nothing wrong with it in my opinion.

I know a lot of southern people who would take offense to you thinking they couldn't manage to read/spell/say Ezra...

Ewwww 2 of my ex boyfriends names!!! And I only have 4 exes total! Lol. BUT tbh, I LOVE the name Casey. I never liked the name Dallas though. He was Dallas Dale _______ the 3rd, and was supposed to pass down the name. He was murdered before he could though. :/

No, dont insult your sister and nephew like that, use his first name. It doesn't have to grow on you, you dont have to like it, its not your child or your name, dont refuse a name or try to make her change her mind just because you dont like it.

Ezra is my sons name. While I could care less whether some random person on the Internet hates my sons name, you should respect your sisters decision. After all it's her child not yours. I hope she names her baby whatever she wants and doesn't care what you think.

I know a Ezra. All you are going to do is piss her off or annoy the crap out of her. Think about how you would feel if someone was trying to talk you out of your baby's name. My mom did it all the time. It made me want to talk to her less.
