My dh has a bad temper

He will explode over little things and make me feel really bad. He will get loud and embarrass me in front of my step daughter. For example the other day he asks me to bring him his weights which are 25 lbs each. I told him I would have a hard time and then when I tried lifting it realized it wasn't as heavy as I thought. So he starts yelling forget it forget it! Then he grabs the weight out of my hand and puts it back where I got it. ( this was mothers day) Well, last night I had left cash on the bed that I planned to use on plane tickets for an upcoming trip. I went to bed so tired that I forgot to put the money away, so I asked him if he knew where it was and he leaps out of bed enraged and says "it's in the drawer!" proceeds to grab the money and shove it at me in the dark. I don't know what's wrong with him but I'm starting to hate him. I just replied to him "thank you for putting it away for me" and he didn't respond. He's acting this way more and more all the time. Any advice?

What meds worked for him? My DH acts the same way as OP's. A therapist suggested to my DH that he sounds bi polar during one of his visits and DH def has anxiety but he is on effexor and it doesn't do much. He refuses to take anything on top of the effexor. Now he's been "too busy" to go back to the therapist and his pcp just refills the meds over the phone. And if he forgets a few pills (as he is prone to do) we can tell because he goes nuts over every little thing. Then I'll say did you miss a pill? (It's usually after he misses 2 that he acts that way) and he'll scream at me to mind my own business and stop antagonizing him. Then later after he calms down he'll admit he did in fact miss some.

Quoting Mazie0723:

Dh use to be the same way. Would erupt at the dumbest shit. It took me telling him to get help or the kids and I were gone. I had looked up train ticket prices and everything. He went and got help he is slightly bi-polar has anxiety and sever OCD. he got meds and was back to the man I married within 8 weeks. If you ever want to vent without judgment message me. Good luck.
