And it was strictly for you to "better your situation" what would you use it for?

So I'm pretty nervous sitting in the courthouse waiting to see the judge. I sure hope he approves me.

Pay off the truck. That would free up about $500 a month
Pay off student loans. Another $120 a month
I guess I'd save the other $5,000

well, for me schooling is not important now.   I'm raising and home schooling 4 kids.    But I would use 25K toward home ownership and about 5K in an emergencies only savings fund.... I would look for a home that maybe wasn't perfect, but was structurally sound, had room for improvement, and was safe for the kids.   Not to mention one that would grow with our family and be a permanent home.    I would try to find something on the cheaper end, while still being a somewhat decent neighborhood.
