so today i was reading a fan site for a teen mom that gave their baby up for adoption. one other member replied to the post that they have a 4 year old special needs daughter and wanted to put her up for adoption because they didnt want to care for her any more; my opinion is this, they are going to damage this little girl. she is already special needs and then you are going to abandon her? makes my heart hurt for her. how could a mother just give up their child that old? if you are going to give them up do it while they are a baby. i looked at this womans facebook profile and she has another younger child and it looks like she already put the 4 yo in foster care and is keeping the new child. opinion please.blank stare

She might be better off without the stupid mom. Her other child should be taken and her tubes should be tied!

sometimes it is better to give a special needs child to someone better able to care for them. It would be better for the little girl to live in a home where the poeple are prepared and possibly have more money and time to support her needs than a struggling parent ....It's sad but sometimes being the best parent to a child is knowing when you cant parent and letting someone who can do it

Maybe giving that little girl up for adoption couldbe the best thing for her. She probably isn'tgetting everything she needs where she is, and the mother is probably becoming resentful at having to take care of her.

It's sad, but not all mothers have the maternal instinct.

If a parent is that willing to just give up on their child, then it sounds like it'd be for the best honestly.

Right now, foster care sounds like the lesser of two evils.

My sister just adopted a 2 year old boy. He is a middle child but was born with clubbed feet. The mom never took him in for his appointments and was going to be brought up on medical neglect charges so instead she gave him away. My sister and BIL love him and he now has two older sibling from them but I still this will bother him when he's older. Right now he's going through months worth of casts and surgeries to correct his feet because is harder to to fix the older they get.

I have a SN dd and I couldn't imagine giving her up. Some people shouldn't reproduce.

I agree with this, but it would have been nice if they would have realized it a little sooner.

If she was wiling to give her child up its probably the best. A child should be loved and wanted obviously the mother is really not a mother
