I want to punch a pregnant lady!

Ok let me start off by saying I would never actually hit her. My highschool friend we'll call her H is currently homeless. Her and her husband are jobless as well, so far yeah it sucks to be them, but now they have added a baby into the mix. H and her husband purposley got pregnant knowing full well the neither of them have any means of taking care of this unborn child. So she contacted me today and asked me if I knew of any job openings and what not. I then proceeded to ask her if they had found a place yet and she said no. I then told her about a few shelters and emergency housing facilities in our area. She responded with none of those places take animals.....at this point I wanted to punch her in the face! She rather live on the streets and keep her animals then get a place for her and her unborn child. I didn't sugar coat it at all I told her, " H are you f*cking kidding me, you know if you stay on the streets you will get your baby taken away." Her only response was "I love my animals they're like children to me." I honestly couldn't make this shit up if I tried. So after I finished our conversation I googled a bunch of resources and sent them to her in a message on facebook. I know she'll get it soon because they go to the library everyday. I just can't believe she would put her animals before the well being of herself and unborn child. I am not sure what the point on my story was but I just needed to get it out!

That was very good of you. You sound like my kind of friend. Called her out on her stupidity and still did what you could to help out.

Thank you I just wish I could do more for her. But you can only lead a horse to water you cant force it to drink.

Haha that's exactly what I was thinking. She needs a friend like you to kick her in the ass but also try to help!

Her way of thinking will change when she becomes a mother. An animal is not worth loosing your child. She will look back at this and think WTF WAS I THINKING!

1 mom liked this

I'd let your local DES know about them, that way they can try to come in and help at any time, not when its too late. Good for you hun, and from your topic, I was about to snap on you lol but I completely understand now. I almost punched a pregnant lady when I was 17 for accusing me of sleeping with her fiancee who was my bf at the times best friend (I was also a virgin)

Ugh people like H piss me off!

I really hope so. I just don't understand how she doesn't realize that now. The moment that little positive sign showed up on my test I knew I would do everything and anything to keep my child safe happy and healthy. I just don't get it.

This may seem silly of me but what does DES mean?

OMG I love how you put that.

When she becomes a mother, reality will hit her. I am just confused though, is she getting treatment and stuff with her pregnancy thus far? Because usually you have to have addresses on those forms. And if not, wouldn't a DR alert the state? And then usually the state will be involved. I know here in Maryland when my brother was homeless for a temporary period, the state put him, his gf and three children in a hotel room temporary until a home opened up for them. He finally went to jail (trying to make cash the dirty way) and she is now doing very well for her self being by herself with the children. Has her own place, goes to school (she has to, to get cash assistance)
