Teachers Are Well Paid

Next time a teacher wants to complain about money tell them this: "Deanna Jump, a kindergarten teacher from Georgia, has made $700,000 selling her lesson plans on Teachers Pay Teachers, an ecommerce startup where teachers offer their lesson plans to fellow educators."

Teachers need to stop complaining and figure out how to make it work.

I get more money waiting tables than my son's teacher assistants for his special needs class does. It's messed up that they don't get paid more. Teachers should be paid more.

Yeah, cause it totally makes sense that a teacher has to start up her own e-business in order to make enough money to survive. Just like it totally makes sense that teachers make very little, but actors and athletes make millions.

People like you make me sick. These are the people responsible for educating our children, they are very real heroes. They deserve to be paid accordingly, and they deserve not to have to "figure out how to make it work". Ugh.

The teachers at the local catholic school barely make $20,000 a year.

Having a second job does not factor into her teacher salary.

Assistants don't get paid crap because they don't hold a degree.

Teachers make a decent amount regardless.

Are you counting the number of hours they actually work, and the amount of out of pocket money that they spend every year on their classrooms?

I don't actually hear teachers complain. Never have. Where I live they make about $60k after 15 years or so. I hear a lot of people say teachers complain a lot but I never actually hear it.

Teachers are underpaid. My sister teaches first grade and has to work a second job nights and weekends.  Teachers should be paid more then they are.
