What age do you think a child should have his/her own bed? What about their own bedroom?



By own room I mean not sharing with parent(s).

ETA: This is nothing against/about co-sleeping, it's literally the child having his/her own bed and room,

and this is assuming thats no financial reason the child is sharing a room with parent or whatever (like there's a room available that isn't being occupied)

Whatever is best. My dd is 5.5 and has pretty much always slept with me.

A month or so for her to sleep in her room alone but my kids always have their own beds and rooms.

They should always have their own room and their own bed. That doesn't mean that they can't sleep in their parents room or in their parents bed, but they should always have the option to be in their own.

My babies slept in a bassinet in my room til 4 or 5 months, while they were constantly waking up at night. Once they slept more steadily I put them in a crib in their room.

Mine all had their own beds! My oldest was 6 months old when he got his own room (but we lived with my in-laws), my middle slept in a bassinet next to my bed until 3 months and my youngest was in our room until a year and the only reason why was because I had to move his bed upstairs, rearrange the older boys rooms and my in-laws were visiting. But always in.their own bed.

Mine always had their own beds - and slept in them from day one.  We had the crib in our room for the first few months with each of them.
