# That's probably why her kids are dumb *edit*

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
I had a friend who really watered down her babies formula.ile 9 oz of water for 2 scoops of formula. All her kids are kinda... Ya know..... Dumb.......

Eta: you guys really think that 2 scoops for 9 ounces of water is ok? Have you read the can of formula? It's 1 scoop for 2 ounces.

I totally understan watering it down, but when you are putting 2 scoops ( that would make 4oz) and put 9oz of water, they are not getting enough. We usually make 6oz then just add an extra oz of water.
I don't think that could be why the children are "dumb" but it is still good to make the bottle that way.

Wow! That is crazy.... That is not the proper amount at all! I can see adding just a little bit extra water, but not 5oz extra! If she is having financial issues buying formula, she should go to WIC.

When my older kids were born,we used concentrate. With my youngest son,we bought the powder once and if we did not water it down,it constipated him.

I don't know if that is the issue but that was it with us.We never bought it again.

Ah, well, I haven't had a baby in 9 years, and 12 years since a formula fed baby. I could have sworn it was 1 for 4. Oops, sorry. Still, this post is very negative and judgmental.

Quoting Anonymous:

its actually 1 scoop per 2 oz not 1 scoop per 4 oz

1 scoop = 4 oz, 2 scoops= 8 oz, How is that really watering it down? It's an extra ounce of water. My son's pediatrician actually recommended doing that exact same thing during summer months to keep him hydrated.

Not her friend anymore, specifically because she is a bad mom an does shit like that

Quoting Anonymous:

Uh, it was reccomend for my son because it keeps them hydrated. My son is barely 3 and is working in a ages 5 to 6 workbook because the one for his age was to easy. You have problems calling your friends kids dumb. Some friend you are.

Maybe her kids are dumb, because she is dumb. I bet it has nothing to do with the formula.

If she truly only gave them one scoop for 9 oz of water, then they would have been severely under nourished and, honestly, possibly needed hospitalized and all....  I think that was either an exaggeration or maybe one or two times... maybe she thought they were over eating and OCCASIONALLY gave them such a weak bottle to try to get them to start drinking water at a certain age... I dunno.. just guessing.
