Buying a house..

Just curious those of you that bought your home... How much was it and what did you put down? Just trying to figure out about how much we need to have up.. We don't plan on buying for another 2-3 years.. and my husband would be able to get a veterans loan if he wanted to and some of them are zero down but just in case I figured I'd ask..

thanks!

We bought our house 3 years ago for $80,000. We got approved for a USDA loan, so we didn't have to put anything down but a good faith payment of $500 when we put in our offer. We hadn't considered buying a house until we found out how cheap they were, so we had nothing saved! Our house was built in 05 and sold in 06 for about $230k so we jumped on it.

Sweet Jesus that is awesome LOL. I figured putting nothing down would really limit the price of house we could get..

We paid $178,000 and have a VA loan. Nothing down, it was all based on credit and debt to income ratio on the amount we were approved for, we were actually approved for $215,000 but didn't want to spend that much.
