What a fucking load of bullshit. My MIL reckons that it is fine for a newborn to cry all the time without help. What a load of shit.
I was like 'well it's bad for there development' and she went on this tirade of how I always think I'm right and everyone else is wrong, so I told her I could prove it, so she then went on to say the new generation thinks they know everything about parenting etc.
Just pisses me off. Tensions is a bit high in the house atm though.
OH AND STALKEEERRR
:P

I wouldn't say all the time but a little cry here and there..about the equivalent of making a bottle and changing a diaper I think should be enough for a Newbie..even a scream through a bath.. But that's why they cry they need something! Poor defenseless babies.. Same thing when she gets old and needs help.. Ahh well your old so sit in your doodie or wait for your food..you'll be fiiinnee! Lol try that!
Haha, I'm aware that a little bit of crying is fine, it's communication (don't even get my started on bath time), but letting them cry just for the sake of it is wrong imo.
Communication with MIL's is hard..They swear because they've been there they know everything lol I wouldn't let her babysit for awhile LOL

I let him semi cry it out at 6 months when we were working on sleeping through the night, I'd let him cry for a couple minutes and then I'd go in and hold him for a few and put him back down awake. I was trying to break the habit of nursing him to sleep. Hehe. He'd just get his binky and he'd be fine, it was more of he just wondered where the heck I was.
It worked for us, but I would never let him cry for hours at any age.
