Teaching little girls about their periods!

 The period post (LOL) reminded me of this fond memory, thought I would share.

My daughter was in the bathroom with me. I was cleaning it. She asked me "what are *these*"  and holds up a tampon. I said "they're tampons". She said "I know that, but what are they for?".. I thought about it for a minute but she was 9. Old enough to know. I said "well, do you know what a pad is for"? She said "yea, for when you have your period, you put them in your underwear because of the blood." I said "Yup. Well these are FOR the same thing, except they go inside." She GASPED and then practically yelled "OMG!! YOU PUT THOSE IN *THERE*!!! YOU MUST HAVE A BIG HOLE!!!" I died laughing. I shared this with my gyno. She had a good laugh too.

That is awesome! Totally made my day! My two year old girl thinks they are rockets. She found them and unwrapped a bunch, came running up to me so proudly and showed me how she would make them blast off. ”Three, three, one, WOOSH!” Lol!! My 14 year old and I now call them rockets.
