unless a child is in extra curricular activities i am 100% against it. innocent till proven guilty. if a child already has been caught with drugs before or something then sure. but if not. heck no

I sign a permission slip every year giving the school permission to drug test my child. It is required if they take part in sports.

No. It's not their place to do that whatsoever.

No way. That's the parents business not the schools.

I knew kids in high school that could be stopped anytime for drug testing.
I believe their parents may have requested it, and some of the students who had to do that were the "troubled" kids who had been in trouble with drugs before. They had been allowed to stay in our high school but had to submit to random tests, and if they failed they were expelled; it was part of a contract at our school if you had been caught with drugs/alcohol or some one reported you with little evidence.

I'm not ok with that whatsoever. Schools are going too far.

I say no. In my opinion they should worry more about the safety of our kids with the money they would be blowing on drug test on things like permanent metal detectors, paying teachers, helping with supplies and such..but that is just my opinion...

Nay. It's an invasion of privacy.

I'm all for schools drug testing.

Schools and parents need to work together, both take a huge apart in the children's lives.

Yay.  If a child is in someone else's care they should know what's in their system so they can care for them properly.
