Names spin-off ... You called my son WHAT???

So, the BoyChild's real name is Kevin. His middle name is Patrick (which he pronounces as pack-tricks, which I think is super cute) ...

My uncle REFUSES to call him Kevin. He's called my son Patrick since the day he was born. Now this is the same uncle who heard me complain for YEARS that my grandmother called me Cindy-Ann instead of just Cindy. (yeah, my real name's Cindy) I was constantly telling her that Ann was my MIDDLE name, not a hyphenated first name. He agreed with me wholeheartedly.

Every time he calls me son Patrick I seriously want to break his nose. For real. Why would he do that you ask? "I like the name Patrick better." Ok, that's great, maybe when you and your 400lb wife (I'm SO not kidding there) have a kid you can call HIM Patrick. But that is not my son's name. Stop it. Just STOP IT.

That does sound frustrating. I feel like you should call my child the name he goes by, whether it is first or middle.

My step sister in law gives her kids two middle names and fluctuates calling her kids three different names, I would be annoyed if I were those kids. Lol She also has a daughter that his family calls only by her middle name, because it is the name he chose. Drama! :)

I'm definitely calling your kid Patrick from now on, just because it irritates you, and I'm an asshole.

Start calling him by his middle name, instead of his first.

And do it in all seriousness. Don't stop until he stops being such a child

I really should, his middle name is Eugene, and he hates it.

This just reminds me that my grandma, who was from Poland, always called my dad Ronnie Lee and me, Emmy Jane (Ronald Lee and Emily Jane). It bugged my mom, but that's just what she had always called us, so we didn't mind.

I like my kid's middle names enough that I wouldn't care if someone called them by those. Sometimes I wish I would have named dd Faith, instead of Eliza Faith.

My grandma didn't like my cousins name (spencer) so she called him "baby" until he was about 10

Maybe he used to beat the crap out of a Kevin when he was in school. I've never met a Kevin who wasn't a total punching bag.
