Why do people do this?

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
I've been reading post all over cafemom today. Why is it when a mom posts about trouble in her marriage/ relationship, someone always has to say " well MYYYY marriage is awesome, never had that problem ect" I mean, why even reply if you are just going to make the OP feel worse. Why not just move on if you can't relate in anyway, instead of bragging about your supposed perfect marriage?!?!

It's high school... SOME people feel better by putting others down and by bragging on themselves. Others have grown up and learned how to respect and support each other.

Because they're lying about their "perfect" marriage and because misery loves company. Some women love to knock others down when their own lives are miserable.

They are either lying or getting ready for the hammer to fall on them.

I've found married woman get squeamish and defensive about problems in other peoples relationships. It's bizarre!

1 mom liked this
No person is perfect, so no marriage can be perfect. I want to scream "LIAR!!" everytime someone says they wouldn't trade one single minute of marriage/motherhood. If you enjoyed being sleep deprived to the point of exhaustion or changing the sheets and bathing your kid at 4 am because they puked in bed, you're either medicated or insane!

I hear a lot of people do it after they have given sound advice and been put off by some pathetic excuse.  I don't blame them much.  Many of the relationship issues I see here are due to selfishness and poor choices.
