fear of death

This is actually a real fear of mine. Laugh if you want, i don't care.

How do i know when I'm dead? What happens after I'm gone? When i think of this, i get panicky..

I wish people didn't die.

Sorry if this is a weird post, but it's always on my mind..

Her name is Judy Kiobasa. She was on way back in like 1986 or 1987--somewhere around there.

Quoting shivasgirl:

what's her name? If she was on Oprah she shouldnt mind you sharing it here

Quoting Anonymous:

Yes-- 16 times!!! No it is NOT 'far fetched!!!' She was featured on Oprah Winfrey YEARS AGO!! My mom even went with her when she went on Oprah!! Believe whatever YOU want to believe!!! I have read a TON of books of near-death experiences and they are very, very similar!! I totally believe near-death experiences are just that!! But--like I said--believe whatever you want!

Quoting notjstanothrmom:

First off, sixteen times? That is a very far fetched story and I wouldn't believe it unless I experienced it. Second, near death is not death and while lots of people think going towards a bright light means heaven or some sort of happy place it's also been scientifically analyzed that people have this feeling of euphoria because the brain excretes hormones tailored for this part of life.

No one living knows what it's like to be dead and no one can tell you what is after life. It is impossible to know and you can't know until you're dead and if you're dead then there is no coming back to tell us what it's like.

Quoting Anonymous:

UMMMMM---actually, I have a friend who has had 16 near-death experiences!!! Every single experience has been the same!!!! She has been in surgery 16 times. Each time, she feels her soul leave her body. She can hear and see everything going on around her body! The Drs. are yelling at nurses to give her this medicine and that medicine--then she floats up to the ceiling. Then there is a dark tunnel, and she 'floats' down the tunnel and at the end of the tunnel, it is very bright. Brighter than anything we have ever seen here on Earth. She is in no pain, she is happy! There are lots of ppl at the end of the tunnel that she knows who have died! They welcome her. There are big beautiful buildings, and flowers and beautiful music, trees, streams etc!! She said it is a place you DO NOT want to leave ever!! Then she feels her soul start moving backward toward the tunnel. She feels her soul go back into her body, and then she hears the Dr. say, "We got her back!! She's back!!!" My friend has NO fear of death, b/c she's been there 16 times!!! Before her first near-death experience, she always believed in God, and Heaven etc. BUT--she has never been a 'regular' Church-goer.

Quoting notjstanothrmom:

We can't do anything about when we die and we're not going to know what is after until we die and it's not like anyone can go there and come back and tell us.

It's not insane to be afraid of death, it's probably why there are so many different religions.

I find comfort knowing that what ever happens is what is supposed to happen. If there is an afterlife, wonderful, if not then I know that I will have no thoughts and won't even be able to think, just like doing into surgery, there is nothing there, no dreams, nothing, I won't even be able to miss something because I wouldn't know about it.

You're amazing, truly! You were given a gracious gift, shown a sample life after death. It's part of Gods will for your life. You have an incredible testimony to share. I hope you decide to live in heaven in the end.

Quoting jonellg:

Whatever it was it was nice, so nice actually that I wanted to stay. I was revived twice, the second time I thought of my DD and stayed. I always thought you just died, I still do not believe in God but I believe in an afterlife of sorts now.

Quoting Anonymous:

You tasted heaven. Everyone does no matter what. You'll see heaven and stand before God the day you die. He will show you heaven, Himself and all you did during your life... then you will be judged and sent to the place you will live forever.

Quoting jonellg:

I died once for a minute. It was lovely, seriously it's hard to explain but it was dark and there was no pain it was very pleasant. I have no fear of death and I"m atheist.

no not everyone goes to where they will be for ever.when u go before God or whomever u believe there is a simple process u go thru..u can return but not like i'm coming back in body..u can remain earthbound that ur choice..then there are those who have to purge before they go..make amends,etc..before they can go to Heaven..now i don't know their time limit.but this is just what was told to me..long story on my convo's with the dead

You'll believe it when you see it I guess.

Quoting shivasgirl:

this is bullshit, there is no hell

Quoting Anonymous:

If you don't accept Jesus as your Savior you'll go to hell. I'm not going to die I'm going to heaven. You can too.

I believe a near death experience can be that. It's our bodies way of coping with death otherwise there would be a lot of terrified family members watching someone die in panic rather then be seduced into happiness. It's what is beyond that happy light that no one knows about.

I guess you will too considering your attitude.

Do you really think a perfectly loving God would make a sin filled human pay for their 100 years on earth with an eternity of fire? No way!!! That is absolutely ridiculous. I believe that if God exists hell is an athiests thought on death and I believe that EVERYONE with a good heart will have the chance to learn about God.

I believe it. I don't have to see to believe.

God gives you a choice. A perfectly loving God lets you choose for yourself. He doesn't force anyone to love Him. If you don't want to love and live with God you don't have to. All He wants is for you to get to know Him. If you reject God you will not enter His Kingdom. Everyone has the opportunity to learn about Him before they die.
