***UPDATED*** Carseats: leading cause of injury in babies
- 99 Replies
Carseats are the leading cause of injury in babies. They should be banned and it's child abuse to put your child in one before 2 MINIMUM. The new movement in auto safety should be to change the laws to "no car rides until 2 years." If people do not comply, they should have their vehicles permanently impounded.
Y'all are choosing between crap and poop when you are arguing over extended rear facing and forward facing. If you really loved your child, you wouldn't put them in a bubble of death aka a carseat. Use a damn stroller and walk. We're a country of fat asses, so this will kill two birds with one stone. No cars, no car seats.
Who's with me?
UPDATE:
So, to all the people who can't read between lines, this post is to demonstrate how ridiculous the ERF v. FF arguments are. Clearly, there is a risk inherent with everything. How one chooses to behave is consistent with their comfort zone. Unless you refuse to place your own child in a vehicle, and therefore a car seat, STFU about other people "endangering" their children by not ERF.

Now i agree we need our kids in carseats but i dont agree how long they have to be in it or how heavy they have to be.
Rear facing until two is dumb, if you get hit from behind their legs can get broken and glass in the face.
And being in a carseat until 12 or until the hit 90 or 100lbs is dumb, i am sorry but i dont want to tell my preteen dont forget you carseat.
And for god sake i an 4'11 and weigh only 130lbs and i would have to sit in a carseat. I would of had ro sit in a carseat all through highschool since i inly weighed 90lbs back then.
How is it safer for them to NOT be in a car seat???? What about accidents where kids have been ejected from the car because they were not in a car seat?
