Here is a lesson folks. IF YOU HAVE HAD A SEIZURE DONT DRIVE. February 2011 my husbands family lost 5 precious lives because a woman chose to drive after having a seizure and did not get cleared by a neurologist to drive again.

This family was CRUSHED when the driver of the other vehicle had a seizure and her SUV went airborne and landed on their truck killing them all.
She is on trial right now for 5 counts of negligent homocide and 2 counts of child abuse because her two children were in the car.

UPDATE
My husband and my mother in law sat through today's trial portion. It went to the jurors, now we wait for a verdict. Please do not misunderstand my motive. I want justice, and I am a firm believer in the court system. If she doesnt get the justice I would choose for her it does not mean justice was not done, it means it was done in a different way. We do not hate this woman. We do not want her children to lose their mother, but we cannot overlook the 5 lives that were taken from us.

Please keep our families in your prayers.
UPDATE 2!! This story is being covered by Nancy Grace tonight. I am hoping that with this kind of media exposure we can help get others off the road who should not be driving without being cleared.
Final update....she was found not guilty. Our family is very torn by this verdict, but hopefully we can begin the healing and move on.

I'm sorry for the family's loss, but I cannot get past all the spelling errors
They were amazing people. Mere weeks before this accident they had just bought the truck. They moved to that side of town less than 6 months before it happened. They were living their dream. They are an inspiration and a huge loss. They were the ones you went to no matter what your problem was they would help. They shoveled sidewalks for the elderly neighbors, took out their trash, they were just, wonderful.
Quoting DixieL:It's weird that if seem's like the people on drugs or drinking or other problems don't get hurt, but they kill innocent people I never understood that. I'm so sorry for what happened to your family and I hope she goes to jail for a long time. If I accidentally killed someone in anyway I couldn't live with myself. I don't know how she can. They look like such a good and loving family. I'm sorry

I just read that article. It honestly seems like a tragic accident. That woman didn't endanger others on purpose let alone her own daughter. Ill pray for your husband's family.

She had her own daughter in he car..do you really think she knowingly risked her daughters life? Some people just do dumb things. And in this case it ended tragically.
Quoting college.mom:She had multiple seizures before this accident. You are not supposed to drive if you have had seizures unless you have been cleared by a DR. She did not get treatment for this. She ignored the doctors and drove. SHE KNEW she had to be cleared to drive. The DMV here makes you sign a statement that says you havent had a seizure before.

I don't understand..she has epilepsy, had a seizure..and drove at some point thus killing a family and now she may go to jail? I.didn't know you had to be cleared to drive. I doubt the woman understood. Maybe she didn't know either. I has epilepsy as a young child but grew out of it long ago.
Such a sad story. Poor woman will have to deal with that for life.
Really? THAT is what you take from this post? I am a stickler for spelling myself, but there is a proper time and place for that. This is not one of those times.
OP, it is a truly sad story. I feel so bad for that family, and it hurts just to see their smiling faces.

My point exactly!
