My mom gave my sister up for adoption...

When I was 16 my mom told me she had a daughter, a year or so after she had me so she had to have been born in 1986 or 1987.  It was a closed adoption; my mom doesn't even remember her birthday :(

I always thought I'd see her on here or something.  But I tried to call an agency that helps find siblings that were given up for adoption, but they couldn't help me because I don't know her birthday.

All I know is that she was born in Manchester or Concord, New Hampshire in 1986 or 1987.

Anyway, that's my confession...I have a sister out there but she doesn't know she has two sisters and one brother (who was also given up for adoption).  She has three neices (soon to be four) and one nephew.

Aww, it's okay.  I have a rough relationship with my mother.  I think she said she was born in the summer months either June or July.  I can't remember though :/

My mom had me, divorced my dad and re-married then had my younger brother.

Before my dad met my mom, he had a son already.  Then after my mom, he had another son with some other lady, then about 5 years ago, had a daughter with yet another lady.

It's not quite an adoption story, but I have 3 half siblings that I've never met.  :(  They all know each other because they live in the same state... I feel left out a lot...

We're you able to find out if she is searching for anyone in your family?  If so you may be able to connect--but I'm not sure since adoption laws were so black and white in the 80's when it came to closed adoptions.  Hugs.

1 mom liked this

Wow, I'm sorry. I'm not sdopted, but I have a brother who disapeared when I was 15. We have spent so much time and money looking for him. I have known a few people who were adopted, but they were all open adoptions.

I do find it crazy that your mom doesn't remember her birthday. I would have such a hard time giving a baby away, I don't think I could forget anything about them.

Nope, I haven't heard anything.  I honestly have no idea how that works.  I don't know if she's moved out of New Hampshire or where her adoptive parents are from...I don't know anything besides a small piece of information. :/

Trust me, I said the same thing.

My mother and I have issues.  She just blocks things out of her mind, she didn't view the child as hers, is my guess.  I don't know.  From what I remember she told me she was born in the summer of 86 or 87.

That's so hard :(  I'm sorry.

I know...I thought the same thing about my mother.  I don't see how she could forget the date she had her baby.
