Sorry if this has been done before & all replies can be anon if you like, but I'm genuinely curious: IF you've converted (or dropped religion all together), what religion were you previously, what do you practice now (if anything), & what made you change?

Study scripture to show thyself approved.

Well, everyone has their own interpretations and personal truths & I, for one, think it's a beautiful thing when we can discuss with respect for each other's individual paths. :)

What belief did you convert to?

Quoting Anonymous:

When I read and was told what the Mormon church teaches, my knowledge of scripture and the holy spirit told me it was wrong. I went ahead and read the book of Mormon and the churches writings from the "prophets". Just like the Catholic popes who go back and forth and disagree the Mormon doctrine is flawed by man.

As a young child, my mom bounced my sister and I from one Church to another. When I was 21, I had Mormon MIssionaries knock on my door. I went to the door, and I felt The Holy Spirit SO STRONG, that I KNEW I needed to hear their message. I went to Church with them, and felt The Holy Spirit very strongly in the Chapel! I had never felt The Spirit so strong in any other Church I'd ever been to! I prayed and read The Book of Mormon. I got my answer that I needed to be baptized. So--here I am--I've been a member for 21 years now, and I am SO GLAD I joined the Church! I don't know where I would be today without the Church!!

:-) is crazy i went to 4 different churches from different denominations , anyone have an idea of how many religions or denominations are around . ? THE GOOD THING IS EVERYBODY on every church was sweet and welcoming

Quoting Anonymous:

I'm glad you found a church that was more in line with your personal beliefs. :)

I was raised catholic and as i grew i notice how the church wasn't following the bible in too many things and they do a lot of rituals and follow traditions more than the bible. Now I go to a Baptist church.

I'm not going to debate this issue with you. Have a nice day!!!

Test all things with scripture. There are lying and deceiving spirits. we now have access to the early church writing just after the disciples and know that the old testament is valid because of more recent findings. From these truths we can conclude that the teachings from the lds church are not all in line with scripture.

Everyone has to go with whatever the Spirit tells them. I was told without a doubt to join the Church, so I did and I have never regretted my decision.

I have not but my husband did. I am Catholic and he converted from being Baptist to Catholic. I asked him to take the classes when we were talking about getting married. My children being Catholic was a deal breaker for me. I wanted him to understand what I and our children would be doing before we made a commitment. At the end of the class he decided to convert.

I grew up as a Christian. I'm now an atheist.

Lots of research, debating, and my own inner voice changed me. I had no choice in being born into a Christian family.

Few of us do have a choice in how we're raised. But, congrats on going forth & finding what was true for you.
