Is too old to co-sleep? My SO has a 7 and 8 year old, the 8 year old with be 9 on the 4th of July. He decides tonight that he wants to sleep with us. According to SO he asks to all the time but I've never heard him so I don't believe it to be honest. So he said "so-and-so said he wants to sleep with me, so either he and I sleep in here or I'm going to sleep with him" I said well kids are told no all the time, tell him no. He said "well I can tell a bitch no too" so really? I'm just the bitch now huh? Ugh I'm LIVID!
Idk if this is a question or a vent or both. I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense, but when your typing through tears its hard to make sense of anything.
My almost 7 year old is sleeping in my bed now... but my DH works midnights.... When DH is home on the weekends the kids know they are not allowed in our bed... They are 6,6,5 and 3 although the 3 year old does get in bed in the middle of the night sometimes.
My 5 year old daughter comes and gets in bed with me in the middle of the night sometimes, but I don't fall asleep with her in my bed. I think 9 is a bit old to be co-sleeping. It would be one thing if he was sick or something, but it shouldn't be happening on a regular basis. I'd be wondering why your dh got so defensive over it. Sounds a bit weird to me....
My DD is 10 yrs old and still crawls into the bed with me....EVERY night ..(separation anxiety issues).
how long has your SO been separated with the mother?
Wow, Your SO seems like a dick.
Sorry he said that to you.
Quoting SJG1013:Wow, Your SO seems like a dick.
Sorry he said that to you.
The older the child is the safer it is for them to sleep with you. Because of the dangers of cosleeping my kids were never allowed to sleep with me as babies but as they have gotten older I do allow them to sleep with me when dh isnt home. Its a nice treat for them and It makes me sleep better not having the bed to myself.
