vegans/vegetarians vs "meat eaters"...who has it worse?

Not this vegan. I don't care if you eat a dinosaur.Though not all veggie people have the same reasons for not eating meat either.Mine is a health and lifestyle decision,not an I love fuzzy cute animals one.Animals are cute and all,but they sure are tasty!Just not healthy to eat.:)

I think there are a*sholes on both sides. I've been vegan, vegetarian and omnivore and I've met judgmental, self-righteous, poorly-informed members of both groups.

I try not judge the way that anyone chooses to eat, but I do wish that people would take the time to educate themselves on where their food comes from. If more people knew what goes on in factory farms, I think they'd think differently about buying "cheap" meat. I'm no longer a vegetarian, but I limit my meat consumption and whenever we can afford to, we buy our meat directly from a family farm. It's more expensive, but it's also more humane and environmentally sustainable, and I like that we're supporting a local, family business instead of a huge industrial factory farm. We keep our total food budget in check by cooking from scratch and limiting the amount that we eat out.

I'm a vegetarian and personally I don't care who eats what... as long as it isn't my face. I haven't ever witnessed a meat eater get judged for their choice to do so. However my choice not to eat meat is often met with comments like this..."why wouldn't you eat meat? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, you don't know what you're missing out on!" And my personal favorite, being called a "grass eater." I am from a very small farm town though so I attribute most of what I've heard to that

I've not eaten meat in over 18 years and while I think it would be great if everyone gave it up I certainly don't go around preaching that meat is murder. I believe it is, and if anyone wants a healthy debate, I'm ok with that, but otherwise I keep my opinions to myself. Not every herbivore is so judgmental and cruel to meat eaters. Don't be so quick to think so.

Other than my friends letting me know when they put meat in food they serve us I really don't care what they eat.  I don't think either lifestyle is more forgiving.  What is there exactly to forgive?   I do think some people are more defensive.  It is really annoying when people bring up constantly about eating meat just because I am a vegetarian.  Personally, I love meat eaters.  I have a special place who those that eat meat but only the serious meat eaters.  You know, the ones that actually kill their food then eat it.  I love selling my roosters to them.    Anyone want some chicken?  I currently have 80 3 month old roosters that I am selling.  Yeah, for carnivores!
