I was saving the sex talk for...

my daughter when she was 16 but 3 girls in her grade just had babys and or still pregnant... =/ She's 15 now and she doesn't have a boyfriend and even if we have to speak to the parents if she goes over before she goes over... and I am really not ready for this talk I thought I had a whole year still to prep myself =(

*** I waited till 16 because I waited for her to be ready to talk and discuss this. On her wishes, we have talked about it small here and there but this is the big big talk I'm talking about.... Stop with the "Omg you waited till she was that old" DAMN least I am giving her the damn talk.

You were really planning to wait that long? She's a young woman now. I intend on having the talk with my daughter when it becomes apparent she is ready/needs to know. I can't put an age or circumstances on it but I do hope that I will be observant enough to have the talk with her before it's to late.

Wow why would you wait so long?? My son has been talked to forever. Hes 14. No way would I wait until 16. I also don't believe it should be a one time talk. You don't just show a kid the alphabet and expect them to read. Why should the sex talk be any different?

It's not long. My daughter doesn't seem ready to let guys in her life. She has a boy that likes her but she told me that she doesn't want a boyfriend yet because she is busy with soccer, basketball, and she has 3 camps she's going to this summer. She turns 16 a week after she gets back so I thought that was a better time... So 16 just seemed to fit into her personal self. She is big on purity and sex before marriage and thats on no pressure from us. I don't believe that so I wouldn't make my daughter believe it either... So 16 seemed like a good age for her. But under the circumstances that 3 girls in her grade are having babys/had... and 2 she talks to not really friends but she gets along with everyone I feel like I should just make her listen to what I say.

I waited so long on her request. But I told her when she is 16 she really needs to talk to me about it. She has made it clear that she is not ready to date, or have relationships. We have had spurts and conversations and what not.

I know my daughter, she was the one who wanted to wait because she was not personally ready for the talk or any type of wanting to date of boys.

Becuase I waited till my daughter was ready to talk and besides there was no reason to force her tot alk about it. She wasn't interested in dating and she wasn't interested in knowing that stuff yet.
