Do churches in your area do that? They don't here. My church isn't a food bank and doesn't have food to give out. If someone comes to our church in need we will refer them to the few resources we have locally: the mission, the meal hall (will serve one meal a day, twice per week, to those in need), catholic charities (which will give a family a food box up to twice a month- they only do this once per week), or the food pantry (they are open three times a week and will give a family one box per month).
Just wondering if it is common for churches to hand out food to the needy. I've never heard of that before CM.
