That was bs. Thinking about calling her manager.

Me and a girl friend went out to lunch today at a nice place.  It was her and me and between us we had four children.  We go and our waitress has her boobs sticking out of her shirt, I could see half her bra (very unusual for a nice place like this).  Then she hardly waited on us.  No refills on our drinks, only saw her when I finally requested the check the rest of the time she was chit chatting with the other girls that worked there.  She hands us the check and says to me that she added the gratuity because we had 6 people in our party (mind you she never checked on us and we had 4 kids meals).  She added a $15 tip!  I would have paid a waitress this amount no problem if they did their job or even more than what was added however, she was the crappiest waitress I've ever had.  I would have given her $8 MAX.  I thought about calling the manager because the more I think about it, the more her shitty attitude pisses me off.  If you had a shitty server would you call after and complain?

1 mom liked this

i would have asked to see a menu or asked where it stated that she was ALLOWED to do that and i would want to see it. then IF it said it i would call the manager and complain (or ask for the manager right there). usually its 8 or more people...not 6.

Don't be a bitch to be a simple space is different than expeshally when you mean especially that isn't even close so shove off. And btw i did go to college. and no where can be one OR two words.

Quoting LivysMama:

Nowhere is one word. Of course, you didn't mention that you went to college either.

Quoting Anonymous:

Now now lets not be so hostile she was a waitress after all, no where does it say she went to college.

Quoting Anonymous:

Expeshally? For crying out loud, at least use spell check.

Quoting things4us5:

6 people in your party is an automatic gratuity? Not when I waitressed years ago, and expeshally not if they were obviously a mom w/ the kids, or 2 moms meeting up. Heck we all went out not to long ago (us 5, plus SOs uncle and his family) and there were 9 of us. The waitress didn't automaticly add the gratuity or pick her own tip. She was hella good though so she got a large tip.

I have contacted a Manager while in a restaurant where I received crappy service!! I've had the Manager apologize all over. I've even had the Manager give us our meal for free or give us a gift certificate with like $40 or $50 on it for a future visit. IMO, if you don't want to give excellent service to the customer, then do NOT become a Waiter/Waitress!!! DUH!!

I would have fought it then and there. You really should expect proper service.

I would have a how horrible the service was and  asked for a manager immediatly and told he or how badly that waitressed dressed and that you should not have to pay the waitress a dime. cause I wouldnt have tipped  the girl..well maybe a penny to piss her off.

You should have asked to see the manager right then. I wouldn't call. I'd just let it go unless it is really bothering you. If it is then sure call him/her.

Did the menu say gratuity would be added to parties of 6 or more?
