If all you are going to do is complain about how little you get when you do get assistance. Bust your damn ass to get off of it.
The system is not hard to get off of. Seriously. I used it 2 times, both when I had to because I lost my job and was not eligible for unemployment. I made do for 3-4 months each time while I was out hitting the pavement (literally, I didn't have a car) putting in application after application. Riding the transit to neighboring cities to get a job.I had two kids under 7 when I was job searching the 2nd time. I had to recruit friends and family and do cleaning at their homes in exchange for child care just to be able to find a job. Once I found a job, I found suitable child care.
It can be done if you WANT to do it. For all of you whining and complaining "I only get $500 a month in FS, what am I going to feed me and my 3yr old?" or "Omg I only get $750 in welfare a month for me and my 2 kids how are we going to live!"all while you have an iPhone, iPods, iPads, etc..... re-evaluate your living expenses. You don't need an iPhone, Boost, T-Mobile, Verizion, etc have pre-paid plans. There is also a wonderful program that you get FREE cell phone and 250 mins a month. You don't need texting, internet, etc on your phone.
Honey, it isn't about you! it's about the kids. If you don't think it's about the kids, you suck as a parent!
This may sound harsh, but seriously. If I can get off of assistance, you ladies can too!
Oh, btw.... this isn't for the ones actively working to get off. This is for the ones sitting on their butts expecting a job to fall out of the sky and hit them in the head like Chicken Little.
