He hasn't been sleeping well, ever. He goes to sleep ok but wakes frequently screaming. Every night he wakes at least twice. Twice is a good night, every hour or less is a really bad night.

Well it's been 15 months and after doing some research I crushed up some melatonin and put it in his milk. He slept for 5 hrs straight and prob would have slept longer if I hadn't given it to him so late.

Judge away.

Edit for the Naysayers, would you rather me give him Benadryl or whiskey, or just not sleep at all? I have a job outside the home where I have to function and I cannot do that with little sleep.....some of us needed more help than others. Sorry.

Update - thank you to all the mommas trying to help and giving me suggestions I do appreciate them very much!

Things to try : Almond milk instead of regular milk before bed

Elevating his bed

Childrens sleepy time tea

Calmag supplement

Going to bring it up with his doctor again, ask about possible night terrors or tummy issues due to milk or anything else

I've known plenty of moms to do this.

I've never used Melatonin but from what I hear it is natural. It's a chemical our brains already make to sleep.

She said it was fine every once in a while to help him get his sleeping patterns regulated.

Does he have a routine for bedtime? Has he always been like this or is it just recently? Talk to your doctor

Holy shit.

My 2 year old hasn't slept since the day he was born.
You do know that Melatonin is time released and you should not be crushing them.

If you HAVE to give it to him, try the liquid.
