1. What is your family size? (kids plus you and spouse if you have one)

2. How much food stamps do you receive per month?

3. what is the average tax return you receive annually?

Now take the amount of food stamps you get monthly, and multiply by twelve. how much do you get annually?

How much of a difference is there between your annual food stamp amount and your tax return amount? Not too much for most, right? So...instead of living off of welfare, how about you use your tax return to pay for your food for the year? Sounds pretty reasonable to me, right?

But...most won't. Why? Most want to buy things they can't thru the whole year...computers, tv's, etc. Sad.

End of beating dead horse. Thanks for participating.

UPDATE: Geez you ladies get so offended so easily. I am not talking about the people who get help for a few months or so. I am obviously talking about the moochers who receive assistance for years. Thus the reason I say they should do this EVERY YEAR. Because they don't know how to manage their freakin money. I know half of you who say "oh I use mine for bills blah blah blah" are the same ones who post about all the crap you bought with your tax return while on FS. Hey, it sucks not having nice shit. But if FS didn't exist and that was the only way you could do it, you wouldn't have a choice would you? Grow the fuck up and quit crying over what you can't have and do something about it instead of living off free money for eternity.

No way am I answering the details in tis question...when you are poor, there are MANY MORE THINGS YOU PAY FOR then just food with the tax return. That helps with other bills, emergencies, health care costs, when your car breaks down, etc. You have no idea what it is like to be poor. Not all of us buy fancy things.

..what about the people who work and still can't afford it?

Quoting Anonymous:

Some people work and don't get PA to afford a car...just sayin'.

Quoting Anonymous:

Your'e a dumbass.

You make people who need help feel like dirt.

How about, people be able to afford things like a CAR with their tax return so that they actually CAN work and get off PA.

Or how about you mind your own business, theres nothing you can do about it in the end.

Live your life and save your energy for something worth while.

Then THIS would be seen a lot more in America, that's what.

Quoting Anonymous:

The government is not your baby daddy people!!! Quit making excuses. If food stamps and other forms of PA didn't exist what would you do? I receive 0 help. Not a god damn dime. We even have private health insurance. Money is tight some times but damn it's nice
To know I am not a scum sucking moocher!!!

$11, 700 in fs. Large family with low income.

Our tax return us usually about $7000.

A few thousand short to feed us for a year.

Our tax return goes to catching up bills and buying clothes for the kids. Clothes on clearance or from walmart or good will. We have a tv from the early 90s. We bought new furniture last year, but that's because our old furniture was falling apart. Literally. And we used the rest to move because dh got a better paying job. Which isn't saying much, but it's better.

You are correct - my husband was out of work for 8 months and we were too proud to ask for assistance from anyone. We managed without his income because I have a career.

I don't think anyone is a low life.

I don't believe that people should be allowed to be on assistance for years and years. Before Cafe Mom - I had no idea of all the assistance available out there and for the ones who need a helping hand for a bit - it should be available. For those who do nothing to better their situation - they should be cut off. With the exception of those who are disabled, of course.

Quoting Anonymous:

Whoopy fucking do

God forbid you ever fall on hard times

Sounds like you'd be too proud to ask for help

Either way your showing that you feel those in PA are low lives..hope you enjoy your closeted little bubble

Quoting Anonymous:

Nope. Never been on FS, medical, nothing. We take care of our own family and do not rely on others to do so.

Quoting Anonymous:

You are probably one of the welfare moms thats just in here to stir up drama because you're bored.

You don't know if I am on welfare or not.

But I still stand by my previous comment

Quoting Anonymous:

Spoken like a true welfare recipient.

Quoting Anonymous:

Good thing it doesn't matter what you think

Quoting Anonymous:

I think that all PA should be deducted from tax refunds.
