If you are on FS, answer this... UPDATE

1. What is your family size? (kids plus you and spouse if you have one)
2. How much food stamps do you receive per month?
3. what is the average tax return you receive annually?
Now take the amount of food stamps you get monthly, and multiply by twelve. how much do you get annually?
How much of a difference is there between your annual food stamp amount and your tax return amount? Not too much for most, right? So...instead of living off of welfare, how about you use your tax return to pay for your food for the year? Sounds pretty reasonable to me, right?
But...most won't. Why? Most want to buy things they can't thru the whole year...computers, tv's, etc. Sad.
End of beating dead horse. Thanks for participating.
UPDATE: Geez you ladies get so offended so easily. I am not talking about the people who get help for a few months or so. I am obviously talking about the moochers who receive assistance for years. Thus the reason I say they should do this EVERY YEAR. Because they don't know how to manage their freakin money. I know half of you who say "oh I use mine for bills blah blah blah" are the same ones who post about all the crap you bought with your tax return while on FS. Hey, it sucks not having nice shit. But if FS didn't exist and that was the only way you could do it, you wouldn't have a choice would you? Grow the fuck up and quit crying over what you can't have and do something about it instead of living off free money for eternity.
Ok.... You only see what you want to see. That might be the case for some people but not all. My dh is self employed ..in construction and he works his ass off. We live with in our means with no extras other than the Internet which is business related and we right it off at the end of the year. We do get FS during the slow season which is from Sept to March. Those are the hard times. Right before the holidays, during and right after. People don't usually like to spend their holiday money on remodeling. See the money he does make during the good time makes up for what we lack during the slow time. It's hard. we are always playing catch up. We really don't get money at the end of the year and if we do it's not much and it either goes in savings for the slow time or to catch up bills. We pay a lot of taxes because DH is self employed. I save all receipts and stuff to help right off stuff at the end of the year to help. The way I see it, we pay a lot in taxes and if we get fs during the slow time I am just using my taxes we payed in. I am a very smart shopper, what fs we get I use coupons and get a lot of deals and I only buy healthy and not junk food. Not everybody that use FS abuses it or does not budget their money. My kids look good too, not because I waste money on expensive clothes I shop when clothes are clearance for the season. So when they put the winter clothes on clearance because summer is here I buy it up for the next winter. This is just at wal-mart or target, I shop at old navy and other places. I do that for summer too. For Halloween I buy the next years costumes when they are 75% off. I do stay at home, but I also run my dh's buisness and our house hold so he doesn't have to so he can focus on getting job after job. My dh is actually taking on another job outside of his buisness and overseeing houses being built. Will be making over a $1000 a week and no we won't be needing any assitance when that happens.
